OOTW: 22nd Sept - 26th

I apologise in advance for the terrible layout of this entire post. I hate scaling photo's and arranging them in this tiny text box, it can be so hard to work with sometimes.
I also apologise for the fact that there are only 4 sets of photo's here when there really should be five (Rachel-Helen's an outfit repeater).
This Outfits Of The Week segment is something I want to start (although I did so rather shabbily). I can't really "do" youtube at the minute as I left home and home is kinda where my filming camera is (or should I say my sister's filming camera). This idea was something to project onto my youtube channel but since that is a no-go, I'll blog it instead!

22ND SEPTEMBER

Monday's is a lecture followed by a seminar, finish at 1 then sleep til 6pm kinda day. I opted for this tartan-print woollen skirt I have from Urban Outfitters as I can move as freely as a bird in it without having to worry about flashing my butt when I sit down! For modesty purposes as opposed to fashion purposes I wore a grey crop top from Topshop underneath this (very) sheer tee from Urban Outfitters. My socks are from Topshop and they're ankle socks with black stripe accents so they add a sporty-vibe to the outfit. This wasn't intended, they were just the socks I happened to pick up that day...
And also there are my docs and my Piccadilly Records tote which I picked up from Piccadilly Records in Manchester (Oldham Street).

23RD SEPTEMBER

It seems I, accidentally, again opted for the light-tee tartan-skirt combo (unintentionally, promise). The skirt I got from American Apparel an the tee is actually very oversized and from Topshop! As are my shoes and my bag is actually Primark. I actually am very fond of this outfit but it takes a lot of self-discipline to sit through lectures in this top as the feel of it irritates my hands.

24TH SEPTEMBER

Wednesday was a far more casual day. Or should I say recovering-from-hangover/just-drinking-tea-all-day day. To me, there is nothing better than the black jeans/stripy tee combo. These are a pair of Topshop Joni jeans with the knee rips (of course, however they do fray a bunch). The tee is a deep deep navy blue/black striped tee from H&M Basics. As you can see, i'd spent that day gorging away on bags and bags of Tyrells. And fro some reason later that night I found myself going out somewhere so I just threw on my Levi's denim jacket. My lipstick is also Kiss of Life from the Kate Moss collection for Rimmel and my scrunchie is from Urban Outfitters!

25TH/26TH SEPTEMBER

I wore pretty much the same thing for both Thursday and Friday (my bad). And I do apologise also for the photo placement, I guess a pub toilet was where I found myself that night. Again I wore my Topshop Joni Jeans but this time I paired them with the grey croptop-Sheer tee combo and threw on my Sheer Kimono from H&M! My shoes are also a pair of white leather gladiator sandals from Urban Outfitters. My scrunchie is from American Apparel.
As it turns out that night I was attending a Jaws gig and boy didn't I realise that white sandals were a totally bad idea. I also got chewing gum stuck in my hair and had to cut a whole section out. Standard.
Short and short of this post is that I suppose I've transitioned through to my autumn-outfit choices, although I don't suppose I even own any summer ones to be honest.

Emma Watson: HeForShe

On Saturday Emma Watson gave this 12-ish minute speech addressing a number of issues that have to be raised, in any case, when discussing the term "feminism".
I've seen a lot of videos like this and although they address very similar messages, jumping around from topic to topic, Emma's speech was just as moving as the next. When looking at the comments section it wasn't surprising to see things like "It's sad that it takes a pretty white girl for this type of humanitarian effort to finally go viral". Which I guess is true but, to me anyway, Emma doesn't just want such a message to go "viral". She and others like her want the idea of equality for all sexes to reach the far corners of the globe, to hit fathers and mothers hearts so hard that they think twice about missing out an important discussion with their sons about how to treat  women as human beings.
Many think that what Emma is talking about "isn't something that hasn't been said a million times before". My problem with this comment is that people still aren't getting the message. Feminists, through various platforms (poetry slams being a personal favourite) reiterate this message of equality simply because the last time they spoke out, they just weren't heard. Perhaps all of the "angry-feminists" will stop jabbing at you with fancy terms, facts and figures and so on when you actually turn around to listen to what they are saying.
I'm pretty sure even this post is tedious sounding to some of you. I'm feeling angry today and I was due a post so hey-ho.
Although she was appointed as UN Women Goodwill Ambassador 6 months ago, it's only recently that i've found out of her position and I couldn't think of any other lady more perfect for the job. She is a perfect example of what all women, all over the globe, SHOULD be able to achieve. Things most people take for granted are considered a real privilege to an awful lot of women and, as Emma says, this needs to change.
Kudos to you Emma, and anyone accepting her invite to partake in HeForShe.

Years and Years and Years and Years and

I have a blogpost coming tomorrow but in the mean time, I'm obsessed with this song/band so I think you should be too

UPDATE: Uni life and Tattoo

Hello guys! It's been a while since I wrote on here and I've finally found some down-time to myself so I thought I would take this opportunity to do a little post for you all.
Now as you may know, along with thousands and thousands of other teenagers across the country, I finished my A-levels this July! (Just did a quick check and actually you all probably know that considering the last time I posted was mid-august). I did a brief post on my results day, telling you all how it went and how I got into my uni of choice; Liverpool John Moores!
I moved in on the 6th of September and I've honestly made myself at home waaaaay way quicker than I ever thought I would.
Now, moving cities left a very exciting prospect for me: getting to deck out a brand new room and, believe me, I had the best fun doing so. Whilst other people's rooms are still looking a bit not-so put-together (apologies if that's just.....your...personal preference) I'd had my bed made and all of my junk splayed out ASAP.

I included pictures of the bathroom too because i'm sure you're all eager and waiting to see pics of my lovely toilet......

Amongst all of that excitement, the day before I left I got a tattoo!

I'll leave you all to work out what it says, happy Saturday!
