I can only apologise for the mess left in the background there, i just had lunch and i'm packing for university so my rooms super messy.
I went into town yesterday so shop for university supplies and, somewhere in between "oo-ing" over kettles and "aa-ing" over ring binders, I ended up in Topman and bought these items from the sale rack. The tee is just white, super simple and only £2! I know H&M can be cheap for basics such as these but I don't think it can get much better than £2 to be honest. The sweater is a grey acid wash, reduced to £13 for a back stain that you can't even make out, so silly.
Last night we went for a meal out to celebrate my exam results and i paired the tee and sweat with a pair of black Joni Jeans from Topshop and my white Topshop Birkenstocks. I'm really into the monochrome look at the minute, the weather is super awkward too so it's hard to find something that accommodates wind/sun/rain/cold (but not too cold) weather, I find a pair of stretchy skinny jeans do just the job!
So today was A-level results day and all morning before 8am I felt as though my stomach was about to fall out of my arse. It would be an understatement to say i was nervous.
I checked my UCAS application at 8am and found i'd been given a place at Liverpool John Moore's University and I move there three weeks this Saturday! My Mum doesn't really celebrate grades too much but when she arrived home this afternoon she came bearing a card, flowers, some champagne and a watermelon.
In celebration i bought this pair of white Topshop birks and I am in LOVE! I've been wanting a pair of these beauties for a little while and, at half price, they were a total must. I plan to buy some black suit-pants from MissGuided to pair with them, i'm really into monochrome at the minute.
Today I got discharged from therapy and I feel quite weird about it, mostly because I wasn't expecting it. My practitioner told me to go and treat mysef, buy myself something to mark the end of all my work. Of course this meant me wandering along to Asda to buy myself some Ciabatta, chicken and juice for lunch.
The weather is still seriously gloomy! Today I wore my ripped Topshop Mom jeans, an Urban Outfitters sleeveless shirt and Topshop Loafers. My vintage denim jacket is from Ebay, original Levi's so i'm sure you can purchase them from pretty much most vintage stores.
My Necklace is from Topshop and i'm so fond of it, it's gold but a lil bit of a rusted gold so it can dress up any outfit (such as today's!). My rings are all Topshop apart from the big greeny-gem stone which is from Dorothy Perkins and the grey band ring.
(Some garments are one offs but ive tried to include links to items similar)
I always reach for my trusty dungies whenever i'm having a lazy-day and the weather is, although rainy, quite warm today so they do just fine. My room looks super gloomy due to my small slanty window and lack of natural light.
The Dungarees are from Urban Renewal and they tend to have quite a large selection in store if not online (links below). My crop is from Topshop, bit of an impulse buy but I don't like wearing t-shirts under the dungarees as it can make me look super bulky, they have a lot of these in right now in a bunch of different colours and they're super cheap
My two silver rings are Pandora and the Scrabble piece is from a random shop I found in Whitby that sold them for super cheap (compared to some online stores i've seen).
I've been a little MIA this week 'cause I've been away on a trip, visiting my boyfriend and I couldn't remember my google password to log on and write anything!
On Thursday I was on my own all day while George was at work and I felt very inspired and I had a LOT of ideas for blogposts. I'd bought Company mag and had been trawling through their pages whilst checking out new Blogs, such as Idressmyselff.blogspot.com (follow her, do yourself a favour and do it!). I just never thought i'd miss writing posts for you all this much, so here I am.
I'm writing this on Saturday and the weather recently has been pretty dreary so sorry if this post doesn't apply to your current situation. However, you know when the weather is just a bit not nice and you need a bit of a pick-me-up? Nothing in particular is wrong but you just need a lil bit of inspiration, whether it be film, music, celebs or art work.
I like to save anything that i find personally inspiring to a folder on my laptop so i'm going to share a few bits and bobs with you today.
If you're still searching for the perfect human being to obsess over, sorry, beat you to it. Elle Fanning is beauty personified. Her gorgeously crystal-clear skin and long wispy hair is enough to be jealous of without even hearing how wonderfully charming she is when she speaks. I am much more a fan of Elle than i am of her older sister, Dakota. Although only 16-years old, Elle has some sort of infectiousness about her and maturity that I haven't seen with anybody else. She is so lovely to watch in interviews and I suggest you get well into her films, starting with Ginger and Rosa (you can find this on Netflix).
Bit weird but I've had this painting saved to my laptop for absolutely ages and the whole aesthetic of it pleases me. It's really bad because I don't know the name of the artist but there you go, just stare at it.
I am indeed super hopeful that when I turn 19 I will somehow miraculously turn into 19-year-old Angelina Jolie because she is a super babe. I think the top photo is a lil bit younger but just imagine for a second that you were that flawless (and still are). I was going to say that there is a sort of innocence about her but I don't think there is, not like Elle anyway. Angy has so much depth to her, the innocence/sexuality/ability to create such diverse characters. And most of all, THOSE lips.
MOVIES. I picked out a rather select few for you. I tend to screenshot the hell out of films when i watch them and save them in a folder too so here are a little selection of what I have. All of which are my most inspiring and favourite.
1) Benny and Joon (refer yourself to wikipedia because I am crap at sweet'n'short summaries) Johnny Depp, perfect perfect perfect. A movie depicting the difficulties of living with mental disorders and the innocent sort of love between, well, Benny and Joon.
2) Breakfast at Tiffany's. If you have never seen this 1961 classic then I beg of you, get up and go and buy it and then GO AND WATCH IT. It's a very-well talked about film and rightly so, I didn't know what it was about or what to expect from it but it didn't disappoint (for once, as a big hype generally means it will).
3) Mysterious Skin. Don't jump into this one light-heartedly thinking it's all about pretty boy JGL because, well it is, but in a small-town-rent-boy-catches-an-sti kinda way.
4) Hick. If you're well into Chloe Moretz then give this one a watch. I read somewhere that it is like a Lolita meets Kill Bill sorta thing, which is totally true and it makes me feel sort of lost like I went hitch-hiking across America accompanying her.
5) LOL. Apparently this film totally flopped at the box office but I don't care. I found it on Netflix and watched and instantly fell in love. The whole aesthetic of it has me hooked and every featured interior is beautiful. I'm not a huge fan of Miley Cyrus' acting but all of the above pointers are reason enough for me to watch this and rewatch it over and over and over.
6) The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou. One of my favourite and one of the better Wes Anderson films. There are slight undertones of humour in his films but especially within this one. It follows the adventures of Steve Zissou and his team in finding the mysterious sea creature that killed one of his dearest friends and their plans to take revenge.
7) Une Femme Est Une Femme. I'm not quite sure what I feel about this film. It's a French film and, well, the French are rather weird. the whole thing revolves around Anna Karina's character who has some weird baby obsession and spends the entire time bugging her husband to conceive a child with her or threatening to do so with another man when he refuses. Still great though.
I don't know..... I found them inspiring and so saved them, do you not find them fascinating? Images like this often pop up on my dashboard on Tumblr and i'm not a huge eye make-up person but this makes me totally want to convert.
Teenage badass/superhero/icon/expert blogger Tavi Gevinson should be in EVERY teen girl's (and possibly, boys) list of inspirations. She started her blog, Style Rookie, in 2008 and in 2009 my old year 6 teacher showed me a magazine interview with Tavi, thinking that I would be interested. I sort of forgot about her between then and 2011, by the time I rediscovered her she had totally transformed and didn't look like 12-year-old-Tavi any more and her feminist focus totally had me rehooked. Since then she founded Rookie Magazine in 2011, which is a collaborative blog written mainly for an audience of teenage girls. I don't know why I just said all of this because most of you probably have heard of her and all of the above is enough to explain just why she is featured in this post.
Not enough people talk about Lisa Simpson's importance and how some of the things she comes out with should obtain much more focus. I read somewhere that the writers of The Simpsons had a lot of feelings about the world that they liked to share via the views and opinions of their characters. Lisa is the baddest of asses and is the most important 8-year-old in the history of ever.
I guess that is it, I just wanted to show that I write about more than fashion and I do more than just take photographs of myself. I don't like to write too much about inspiration because my words get jumbled (this is bad because I have turned down too many zine/writing opportunities) so I hope the amalgamation of pictures fulfilled your inspiration-thirsty needs.

I work every morning at half past ten so i find myself trying to cram everything else I need to do into the hours I have to spare afterwards. Therefore, understandably I don't really have days where I sit in jeans and a t-shirt and do absolutely nothing. Even right now I'm writing a blogpost for you all (though somehow I don't think this counts as a very strenuous task, in fact it is quite the opposite).
I've been having quite horrific dreams of recent and I think it's disturbing my everyday life. I work alone quite a lot so I have a lot of time to think and that then goes into overdrive about the dreams I've been having. For instance, on Wednesday night I dreamt that I got an A in my English A-level but for some reason I had totally forgotten to include a very important part of essay writing into the essay I had written. I SHOULD have been pleased when I woke up but instead I had to remind myself that it was only a dream, whilst I sat traumatised at the fact that I could quite possibly fail all of my A-levels. I guess it kinda doesn't help that results day is in 13 days.
I returned from work and ate a bowl of egg noodles with soy sauce and had a couple of poppadoms, coffee and a glass of lemonade whilst watching the Commonwealth games.
